Philip K. Dick quote from Vulcan's Hammer

…it was the task of the schools, and especially the grammar schools, to infuse the youth of the world with the proper attitudes. What else were schools for?

Hi Hand, followed you over from total dh...nice quote this one, was just thinking about such a thing last night while watching NCIS. The protagonists attempt to catch a Korean assassin who has been "brainwashed" from a young age to be this killing machine, allowing the issue of her potential innocence to be repeatedly raised as an acceptable veiwpoint. I couldn't help thinking that school had done the same thing to the protagonists, though perhaps economic superiority had allowed them the luxury of judgement as opposed to the poverty of pursuit and capture.
